Police are continuing their investigation into a Burscough collision which has resulted in the death of two men.
It happened at around 4am on Wednesday (November 20th) when a white Audi S1 collided with a wall, a telegraph pole and then a second wall on Moss Lane. The driver, now named as Conner Stevens, 24, from Sefton, sadly died at the scene. The front seat passenger, Luke Peaurt-Moran, 18, also from Sefton, was taken to Aintree Hospital but sadly later died.
Police now know that the Audi, along with a red FIAT 500 Abarth, were stolen during a burglary prior to the collision at an address in the Towngate area of Eccleston near Chorley. The Abarth was later recovered on Valley Close in Crosby. Officers are keen to trace anyone who may have seen the cars, any other vehicles, or indeed the collision.
DCI Richard McCutcheon, who is leading the investigation, said: “My thoughts and sympathies are with the family of Conner and Luke. Specially trained officers will continue to support them through this extremely sad time.
“Two young men have lost their lives and so we are determined to find out exactly what has happened.
“This very much includes the potential route the Audi and the FIAT have taken and whether they were travelling together. If you saw either of these cars, or indeed any other vehicle that may have been travelling with them, between Towngate in Eccleston, the crash site on Moss Lane and then where the Abarth was traced on Valley Close in Crosby, we need to speak to you immediately.
“Similarly, if you have any dash cam footage of the cars or the crash itself, please make contact with us.
“Lastly, I would urge anyone who was on board the Abarth or any other vehicle that may be linked to this incident to search their conscience, do the right thing and come forward. There are two families that deserve answers and you may have vital information.”
Anyone with information can call 101 quoting incident reference 114 of November 20th; alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be reached anonymously on 0800 555111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.

Sad that two young men have died, but also sad to note that their partners in crime have no conscience nor concern, for them or their families.

Why should we? You think they had any for the families lives they have invaded? Takes years to get over someone violating you're home. Two less vile creatures we have to worry about in the future.

Connor Stevens recently in court on firearms charges, previously went into a blind pensioners home in Litherland and and took money from her handbag,
No sympathy from me, hope the others in the Fiat are caught.

The two cars were stolen in the early hours in Eccleston, seen racing around with a third around Ulnes Walton around 3am before the crash in Burscough.

nice family ..
Stevens, of Cross Hey, Litherland, pleaded guilty to possession of a prohibited weapon and was sentenced to three years in a young offenders’ facility. He was also sentenced for possession of Class B drugs.
